Programs for volunteers including: Friendship, volunteers serve in one on one match-ups with homebound seniors; Meals on Wheels, volunteers deliver lunch to homebound elderly; Pets on Wheels, volunteers and pets visit residents of area nursing homes. The Alzheimer's Family Day Center
A day care center for adults with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias provides activities aimed at improving participant’s quality of life. The center also provides respite for families. Volunteers are needed for one-on-one contact and in small group situations. It is imperative that volunteers have concern and care for the elderly. Training is provided.

Powatan Nursing Home
Powatan provides care for the elderly who are no longer able to live independently. Volunteers are needed for group services (i.e. putting on shows for the residents); offering support services, which include typing, playing bridge, reading, and creating any way to make the environment more like home; and being visitors for those who do not receive many. The nursing home would prefer a yearlong commitment. Training is provided.

Sleepy Hollow Nursing Home
This is a recreation facility offering various types of activities to senior citizens. Small “field trips” requiring transportation and lunch are also given. Volunteers are needed as visitors, to accompany outings, to assist with programs, and to participate in recreational therapy. Training is provided.
