Community Service Checklist
Logistics:
- We have publicized this event to our organization's members
- We have notified The Broadside of our activities
- We have notified the Center for Service and Student Leadership of our activities
- We have a place to sleep at night (if necessary)
- We have made eating arrangements
- We have access to bathroom facilities
- We have transportation to and from the site
- We have addressed group dietary concerns (veg/lowsalt/etc.)
- We have city maps and procedure to follow in case a group gets lost on the road
Sites:
- We have a place to work
- We have purchased any needed materials for the site
- We have confirmed the number of volunteers with our site contact
- We have rainy day as well as back up plans
- We have incorporated community interaction into the day
- We have made t-shirts/pins/badges for the service event
Participants:
- We have planned our budget for the week and collected all fees
- We have a camera and film
- Participants have been given reading materials on the issues the site addresses
- Participants have been given a list of what to bring
- We have made t-shirts/pins/badges for the service event
Safety and Liability:
- We have collected emergency information and waiver forms from all participants
- We have a first aid kit for each vehicle
- We have discussed alcohol policies
- We have established emergency procedures
Other:
- We have a speaker arranged to discuss the social issue
- We have a speaker arranged to facilitate a reflection session
- We have evaluations made up to collect information for next year
