Short-term Immersion Opportunities 

Break Away (Alternative Spring Breaks)

This organization trains, assists and connects college students and communities to promote high quality alternative break programs.

Cross-Cultural Solutions

Connect your travel experience with a service project. Lengths-of-stay are from 1-12 weeks, and start dates year-round. In-country staff welcome you to a CCS Home-Base and ensure that all your needs are met--from safety and lodging to perspectives and insight about the local culture.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity leads groups to build homes with the intention of eliminating poverty housing and homelessness. Habitat offers both domestic and international projects, including the Global Village Program which sends groups abroad for two-week volunteer trips.

The International Partnership for Service Learning and Leadership

Offered in 14 countries, IPSL programs unite academic study and volunteer service, giving students a fully integrated study abroad experience. Students study at a local university and serve 15-20 hours per week in a school, orphanage, health clinic, or other agency addressing human needs. 

Post-Graduate Opportunities in Public and Humanitarian Service

AmeriCorps

AmeriCorps is a program through the federal government. Several programs exist, commitment ranges from earning funding through local service projects to full-year, paid experiences after graduation in locations all over the country.

Peace Corps

Volunteers in the Peace Corps serve for 27 months working in areas such as education, health, agriculture, HIV/AIDS education, and environmental awareness.
