Mason's Resource For:
Misty Hensley-McGaffey
Misty Hensley-McGaffey is excited to be part of the Center for Leadership & Community Engagement as the Program Coordinator.
Since high school, Misty has been dedicated to volunteering in the community through her family's church or later in college through student groups. She feels privledged to help students at Mason connect to similar volunteer opportunities.
Misty had her first experiential learning in college through an international internship in London, England. The experience gave her a taste for travel and cultural exchange. This combined with her love of volunteering eventually led her to India for a 3 week volunteer project working with women’s groups on STD education and prevention.
Before coming to work at Mason, Misty spent four years coordinating events for the midwest region of the National Institute for Technology and Liberal Education (NITLE), a non-profit focused on instructional technology in Michigan.
Misty is excited to share her passion for volunteering and community building with the Mason community.
