NCLC 195 Communication and Leadership "In Common Cause"
ICC focuses
on the importance of communication skills and critical thinking. All students are encouraged
to attend. A $20 fee covers all materials. Academic credit is optional,
but tuition for the credit must be paid.
NCLC 204 Creative Leadership Development
This course examines leadership philosophies and the strategies for learning, interpreting, creating, and developing leadership that is reflective and active. The course includes experiential learning to enable students to practice leadership methods and skills.
NCLC 295 Special Events Management
Learn leadership skills needed to plan and facilitate special events including: delegating tasks, developing publicity, coordinating a team, managing group dynamics, leading meetings, handling emergencies and evaluating an event. Final class project includes implementing a GMU sponsored special event (i.e. Alternative Break, Mason Day, International Week).
NCLC 395 Leadership for the 21st Century
Leadership and expectations of leaders have changed during the last century.
This course examines the changing role of leaders and what characteristics
are needed to be successful leaders in the 21st century.
In addition, this course explores transformational leadership, team leadership,
and servant leadership with an experiential focus that enables students to
practice community leadership.
