Seeking Student Change Agents: Fall Course on Leadership and Change, NCLC 435 (4 credits)

Transformative action is an approach to social change that focuses on innovative, collaborative solutions to seemingly intractable social problems. This class will explore topics such as social change and globalization, creative conflict resolution, the nature of power, oppression and influence, and systemic leadership. Students will examine the strategies, and ideas of effective social change advocates in the 21st century.

Students will explore methods of personal and social transformation. By the end of the course, each student will develop a plan for social innovation: a creative proposal for solving a societal problem.
